Stand Up Paddleboarding, or “SUP”, is one of the fastest growing water sports in the world. It is fun, easy to do, and provides a great, low impact workout. A paddleboard trip with North Coast is a great way to try something new and explore the waters of Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. We are the only SUP guide service in PRNLS and we offer guided trips for all ability levels in some of the most beautiful and scenic paddling areas in the world.
Dave has been involved in paddlesports since age 12, when he started whitewater kayaking. He has traveled extensively and considers Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore to be one of the most beautiful paddling venues in the world. He is excited to bring his love of Paddleboarding to others.
JD comes to the Upper Peninsula from Cottage Grove, Oregon. He and Co-owner Dave have been friends since their high school days in PA. JD holds a Bachelor’s degree in Park and Resource Management with a focus in Outdoor Leadership. When he’s not on the water he enjoys traveling and exploring the outdoors with his dog.
Amanda has loved being in the water since she was a kid and growing up in Wisconsin, she’s also always had a fondness for the Northwoods. So what better place for her than Lake Superior?! Amanda comes to North Coast with years of paddleboard experience. Her other hobbies include gardening, yoga, knitting, and reading. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Geography and Environmental Studies from the University of Oregon. Her studies include a semester abroad, learning about ecotourism and agricultural systems in Central America. Professionally, Amanda has worked in office management for over five years in both non-profit and for-profit organizations. With her passion for building stronger communities, she volunteers whenever she can… You might see Amanda on the water or taking charge in the office
